Coach Dimmick started his coaching career at Rio Dell Elementary School. John's eighth grade
Panthers won 4 league championships during Coach Dimmick's six year reign. John began his
high school coaching for the Junior Varsity Crusaders of St. Bernard's High School, and
remained their coach for nine years under the helm of Bob Robertson (now of Arcata HS).
During his tenure John's teams won six Little Four Championships with three teams compiling
records of 21-5, 20-4 and 19-4.
Now John is beginning his fourth year at the helm of the Fortuna High School Huskies,
Men's Basketball Program and Varsity Coach. The 1994 -1995 team won the Humboldt Del
Norte League Post Season Championship held at Humboldt State University. In addition, his
teams have been involved in the state sectional play offs two of the last three years.
John is married to Sue (Wahlund), and they have two sons, Joe (27yr) and Damon
(23yr). John and Sue reside in Eureka, California.
