Coach Shane Feusier graduated from San Carlos High School in the bay area in 1974. Coach Feusier played a year of baseball in college and then coached junior high kids in football, basketball, and track for a couple of years. Coach Feusier received his B.A. in Zoology from University of California Santa Barbara in 1979, entered the Master of Science Natural Resources program at Humboldt State University the same year and ended up receiving a Master's in Wildlife.
Coach Feusier started teaching chemistry and physics at Fortuna High in 1984 and planned to coach as part of my high school career. A marriage, family, and full time teaching position kept him from coaching. Coach Feusier received a Humboldt County Excellence in Teaching Award in 1996 for in creative and innovative work at Fortuna High School.
Shane is currently a single father with two teen-aged kids and have been able to get back into coaching. Shane enjoys coaching the freshmen level because it is rewarding to watch a group of junior high all stars from 8 feeder schools become a team and the future of the basketball program.
