In school, Max has gotten straight A's with an occasional B, since fourth grade. His
favorite subjects are science and Spanish. Max is a member of CIF, NHS, and GATE. Last
year he received the FLARE award in his Spanish class. Max's favorite award that he
received is the "most sly" award given by Mrs. Halstead. He has a very difficult schedule
this year with three honors classes and only one elective.
Outside of sports, Max likes to try a lot of different things. He has tried surfing,
snowboarding, mountain climbing, etc.... Lately he has been fooling around on his
skateboard and with his guitar. Max likes these things because there is no pressure. He
likes to hang out with his friends whenever possible.
In the future, Max wants to go to a four year university. He hasn't really thought of any
major yet, but he hopes to decide soon. He would like to go to a UC or any other good
university on the west coast. However, a school on the east coast is still an option.
I would like to thank my parents, John and Jean Montgomery for all their support. I'd also
like to thank all the teachers and coaches I've had, for all their help on and off the
playing field.
My advice for future players is to play every day and to do it because you want to. Also,
try to have fun in all situations good or bad.
Max began playing sports when he was in the first grade and his mom signed him up for soccer
and basketball recreation leagues. Since then, he has also tried baseball and golf, but
they were not as fun as soccer and basketball.
