KEITH REID

JUNIOR

Keith Reid first played basketball in the fifth grade, when a good friend talked him into trying out for a sport he didn't enjoy. He tried out, made it and fell in love with playing basketball. He continued playing through 6th, 7th and 8th grade for the Fortuna Elementary Spartans. While playing for the Spartans, Keith received several awards including "All Tournament" and the "Academic Athlete" award in the 7th and 8th grade. To improve his basketball skills, Keith attended basketball camps at Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods. Keith then moved on to Fortuna High School, where he played on the freshman and junior varsity teams in basketball. Keith has also played baseball for the Fortuna Little League Dodgers, the 13 year old Sox's team and the Babe Ruth Pirates. He also enjoys playing tackle football, but has never played football in an organized league. While attending Fortuna High School Keith has enjoyed his classes. His favorite classes are Physical Education and Woodshop. After high school he would like attend college, although he is not sure where he would like to go or what his major will be at this time. When Keith is not playing sports, he enjoys snow skiing, fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family. Keith would like to thank all of the coaches who have helped him along the way and his parents who have supported him. Keith is looking forward to a great season this year. He also hopes to be part of the Huskies next year to finish out his high school basketball career. Keith's advice to players coming through is to practice hard and work on defense. Defense is the most important aspect of the game. Keith's parents are Chester and Luann and his older brother is Jay.
