Tyson
enjoys all kinds of recreational sports and has been involved in competitive
sports since he was 5 years old.
Since high school, his focus has narrowed to baseball and Basketball.
He
played in the Scotia Athletic Association from the first grade to the fourth
grade and then for the Fortuna Spartans fifth through eight grades.
He was selected All-Tournament in the fifth grade Chism Basketball
Tournament, sixth grade Pacific Union Tournament, in the seventh grade Sunny
Brae Tournament and in the eight grade, MVP of the league Tournament.
In 2000, he received the Outstanding Athlete Award, Scholarship, and
Citizenship Award.
Tyson
has also excelled in baseball at Fortuna High School.
Tyson help the Fortuna High School Baseball team qualify for the North
Coast Sectional Championship Game last year.
Last year as a sophomore Tyson was selection All-County and Most
Outstanding Hitter in Baseball
Tyson
has played on both the freshmen and Junior Varsity basketball teams. He was
Captain of the JV team; all received the All-Tournament Award at the FUHS
Basketball Tournament and MVP at the St Bernard Tournament.
Tyson is looking forward to playing his first year on the Varsity team as
a power forward/center.
Tyson
has maintained an overall GPA of 3.4 in school.
In addition to academics and athletics, Tyson volunteers as a coach for
Eel River Valley youth football and as a referee for youth basketball games.
He is currently a member of the National Honors Society, California
Scholarship Federation, Future Farmers of America, and Fortuna High Link Crew.
