CODE OF ETHICS
The Humboldt Del Norte League is committed to the demonstration of sportsmanlike
and ethical behavior in and around all athletic contests player under its sanction. All contests must be safe, courteous, fair, controlled and orderly for all athletes and fans alike.
It is the intent of the H-DN Board of Managers that violence in any form will not be tolerated in athletic contest ( or practices) under the jurisdiction of this Board.
In order to enforce this policy, the league will establish rules and regulations in cooperation with appropriate coaches and administrator groups which set forth the manner of enforcement of this policy and the penalties incurred when violations of the policy occurs. The rules and regulations shall focus upon the responsibility of the coach to teach and demand high standards of conduct and to personally enforce the
rules and regulations set forth by the league.
CODE OF ETHICS FOR STUDENT ATHLETES
| Be courteous at all times (with school officials, opponents, game officials and
fans). |
| Exercise self-control |
| Be familiar with all rules of the contest |
| Show respect to players, officials and other coaches. |
| Refrain from the use of foul and abusive language. |
| Respect the integrity and judgment of game officials. |
| Refrain from the use of illegal and non-prescription drugs, anabolic steroids or any substance to increase physical development or performance that is not approved by the United States Food and Drug
Administration, Surgeon General of the United States or the American Medical Association. |

Fortuna High School's Additional Student Requirements:
Each student athlete at Fortuna High School has read and signed a understanding of the Policy Statement, Code of Ethics, and the Violations, Minimum Penalties and Appeal Process of the
H-DN's Ethics in Sports Policy. This is a commitment made by these young athletes taken upon themselves, for the very same reasons the Coach Vida McKern and Coach Damon address in their "Message by Coaches" in the 1923 MEGAPHONE. The Husky tradition lives on!
