Jennifer Bice is the new Freshmen Women's Basketball coach at Fortuna High School this year. Jennifer attended Fortuna High School, where she played basketball, softball, and soccer. Coach Bice graduated from Fortuna High in 1998 and attended College of the Redwoods, where she played softball.
Coach Bice began coaching basketball at Toddy Thomas School in Rohnerville in 1999. This was a homecoming of sorts for Coach Bice; since she had herself, attended Toddy Thomas and played basketball there.
This will be Coach Bice's first high school coaching assignment.
Jennifer was born and raised in Fortuna, where she lived with her mother, father, older brother, and younger sister. She now resides in Eureka, where she works for the City of Eureka in their Recreation Department. Jennifer works out of the Adorni Center where she is a Sports Coordinator. She organizes and coordinates the Hoopsters Basketball Program for elementary age students, junior high students, and high school students; various men's and women's programs; and co-ed softball leagues. For her current project, she is organizing a women's basketball league.
Of herself, Coach Bice says "On my free time, I like to go and enjoy the outdoors. Nothing's better than enjoying nature, especially when the sun is shining. I am a warm and understanding person. I'm always trying to help and lend a hand to whomever. I'm always striving to achieve my many goals that have set for my future, and coaching high school basketball is definitely one of them. Coaching Freshmen Girls Basketball will be a great experience for me as my first year of coaching a high school team. I'm hoping to have a fun but challenging season."
