When Sarah got into high school she decided to focus her
athletic skills on basketball. Her freshmen year she played for
Coach Rosser on the Freshmen Team. She began her sophomore playing for Coach Bettiga on the Varsity
Team, and moved back to the Junior Varsity Team with Coach Benbow prior to league play. Also, Sarah
attended camps in Chico, Lake Tahoe and Humboldt State. This has been quite an experience for her.
Outside of high school sports, Sarah enjoys rollerblading, snow skiing and sailing her family's boat
"Good Grief" with her dad.
Sarah has been involved in ASB, Link Crew, and plans to be involved in FFA this year. She has
been taking college preparatory classes throughout high school to prepare her for either a four year
university. She plans to play basketball for whichever college she ends up attending.
Sarah is a real family person. She loves spending time with her parents, Tom and Kellie, and her
older sister Addie and younger sister Lauren. "I like being home because it's an atmosphere of laughter,
comfort, and support." Sarah feels it is of great importance to be a good role model for her younger sister
as he older sister was for her.
Sarah would like to thank her best friend Shannan O'neal, Alana Jarman, and Chelsie Fisher for
always being supportive of her in everything she does.
"I look forward to being a part of the Girls Varsity Basketball Team. This is a great opportunity for
me and I will strive to be an asset to the Team"
Sarah has been athletic since she was old enough to walk. She
insisted on riding her sister's two-wheel bike when she was
three, but during her sixth grade year she decided that
basketball was her favorite sport. Sarah was raised in Del Norte
County where she played soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball,
gymnastics and was a member of the Crescent City Swim Team.
During the end of her sixth grade year her family moved to
Scotia where she has lived ever since. Immediately, when she
moved to Scotia she began swimming for the Scotia Swim Team.
She also played volleyball, basketball, softball and was a
cheerleader for Scotia Elementary.
