Sarah has been athletic since she was old enough to walk. She insisted on riding her sister's
two-wheel bike when she was three, but during her sixth grade year she decided that
basketball was her favorite sport. Sarah was raised in Del Norte County where she played
soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics and was a member of the Crescent City
Swim Team. During the end of her sixth grade year her family moved to Scotia where she
has lived ever since. Immediately, when she moved to Scotia she began swimming for the
Scotia Swim Team. She also played volleyball, basketball, softball and was a cheerleader
for Scotia Elementary.
When Sarah got into high school she decided to focus her athletic skills on basketball and softball. For the past two years she played left field for the Fortuna Marlins, and plans to try out for the high school softball team. Last year she played on the Fortuna High School girls basketball team and enjoyed the summer league with all the Fortuna High women's teams. "That was an awesome experience."
Outside of high school sports, Sarah enjoys rollerblading, snow skiing and sailing her family's boat "Good Grief" with her dad. During the summer months she enjoys traveling with her family. For relaxation Sarah loves to watch movies that make her laugh. Her comic idol is Jim Carrey.
Sarah is involved in ASB. This year she enjoyed being a Homecoming Commissioner for the sophomore class. She has been taking college preparatory classes throughout high school to prepare her for either a four year university, or entrance in the Annapolis Naval Academy. She plans to play basketball for whichever college she ends up attending.
Sarah is a real family person. She loves spending time with her parents, Tom and Kellie, and her older sister Addie and younger sister Lauren. "I like being home because it's an atmosphere of laughter, comfort, and support." Sarah feels it is of great importance to be a good role model for her younger sister as he older sister was for her.
Sarah would like to thank her best friend Shannan O'Neal and her family Mike, Wanda and Sean for always being supportive of her in everything she does.
"I look forward to being a part of the Girls Varsity Basketball Team. This is a great opportunity for me and I will strive to be an asset to the Team"
