Lori Sand has enjoyed sports ever since she was a little girl. She grew up in McKinleyville
where she played basketball following her sister Jennie's footsteps. Besides basketball,
She is involved in volleyball and softball. She participated in track and field while in
McKinleyville and received many awards. This spring she plans on going out for track
again. Lori was very successful in softball her freshman year, receiving Honorable
mention and All Tournament awards. Because of her sister's encouragement, she spent
most of her sports time on basketball. She spent a busy summer attending various
basketball camps in Chico, Lake Tahoe and HSU. After four years of playing basketball
in McKinleyville at the elementary level she moved to Fortuna and began her Huskyette
basketball experience as a freshman on the junior varsity team.
Beside sports she enjoys spending time with her friends, dancing and bike riding. When her busy schedule allows, she loves being with her family at Trinity Lake, where she water skies and Jet skies. Her favorite hobbies are eating, sleeping and watching movies.
In school, Lori's favorite class is Photography. She hope to continue her education after high school majoring in the Arts and to pursue a career in photography. Her ceramics class is another class that is enjoys and is currently working on a large "Pulled Handle" mug. Additionally this active young lady has been involved in homecoming activities such as the Lip Sync and Thursday Night Football. Float building is now an area of interest for her. She say's it just large art.
Lori's philosophy on sports is to play hard and don't get hurt. Always giving a 110% to any task at hand will produce good results. Lori would like to thank her family for their support and to all of her cousins
