Tiffany Sand

SENIOR

Tiffany has enjoyed sports since an early age.  She first played basketball in second grade on the Fortuna Parks and Recreation league.  She usually was the only girl on the team but was still the leading scorer.  Tiffany attended  many camps to learn the fundamentals of the game.  Tiffany began playing for Hydesville Elementary School in sixth grade.  While Tiffany played at Hydesville, her team placed in the top three of every tournament they attended and Tiffany was selected All-Tournament or Tournament Most Valuable Player at every tournament.  During Tiffany’s eighth grade season, Hydesville won the championship of the Crescent City Tournament’s A Division (large schools) even though Hydesville had a total of less than 75 seventh and eighth graders.

In high school, Tiffany has played golf, basketball, and softball every year.  She was selected as the Most Improved golfer her freshman year and MVP her senior year.  Tiffany played on the Junior Varsity basketball team when she was a freshmen.  She is a three-year starter on the Varsity.  She was selected MVP of the Willits Tournament and All Tournament at the Fortuna Yvonne Rocha Tournament and All-H-DN Honorable Mention during her sophomore year.  As a junior, she was selected All Tournament at the Pleasant Valley Tournament in Chico, All Tournament at the Fortuna Tournament, Times-Standard Athlete of the Week, and All-H-DN Honorable Mention.  As a softball player, Tiffany has been part of Fortuna’s domination of the H-DN League, winning the league championship for seven consecutive seasons.  Tiffany has been an integral part of that program, having been selected All Tournament at the Ukiah Tournament, All-H-DN Honorable Mention, and last year All H-DN.  She has also been selected as the Times-Standard Athlete of the Week in softball.  The Soroptimist Club also selected Tiffany as Girl of the Month for November.

Tiffany plans to attend College of the Redwoods next year to complete her general education classes.  She hopes to play both basketball and softball at CR.  After graduating from college, she hopes to attend the CHP Academy.
