Aimee House

JUNIOR

Aimee has been playing sports since she was very young.  In middle school, you could always find her out on the football field or basketball court with the guys.  Born in Fort Bragg with all older boys as neighbors, she grew up as a tomboy.  When she was six, she began playing soccer, basketball, and t-ball.  In middle school, she played basketball for Toddy Thomas, soccer for local Class III teams, and Little League softball.

In soccer, Aimee has played for numerous Class III teams (including boys teams) and Arcata’s Class I team.  She has played varsity soccer for three years at Fortuna High School, where won the Rookie of the Year award her freshmen year.  During her sophomore year, she received the Most Improved Player award.  For the last four years, she has volunteered with the Humboldt Youth Soccer League as Line Judge and Referee.  She has also been selected to Little League All Star teams.

Aimee has played on a school basketball team since her sixth grade year at Toddy Thomas.  During her eighth grade year, Toddy Thomas won the championship at the Crescent City Tournament, where she was named Tournament Most Valuable Player.  She earned numerous all-tournament awards that year.  The summer before her freshman year, Aimee played for Coach Richard Graey’s AAU team, the Lady Eagles, where she was the starting point guard.  Aimee regards that as one of her most beneficial basketball experiences.  She has attended camps at HSU, Snow Valley, Santa Clara, and Gold Beach.  At the HSU camp, she met Coach Bobby Robinson, where she learned never to be satisfied with her skill level.  As a freshmen, Aimee played for the Junior Varsity team for Coach Bart Silvers. She was chosen by her coaches to receive the Jennifer Nunnemaker Award, as the player who best exemplified the spirit and determination of the late Jennifer Nunnemaker.  During her sophomore year, Aimee played for Coach Glen Senastraro, where she learned all about staying low.

Aimee enjoys many other things, off the field or court.  She enjoys spending time with her family at their camp in Branscomb, snowboarding, road trips, swimming, and off-roading.  She received the Golden State  Academic Excellence Award in algebra during her freshman year.  She has been a Fortuna Police Explorer and a Link Crew leader.  She also worked at the basketball camp sponsored by Fortuna Parks and Recreation.  Her future goals are to major in Accounting a get a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Aimee would like to thank her parents Mark and Vicki, her sister Erica, her Aunt Di, and  her Uncle Phil for all their love, support, and being her Number One Fans.
