Rod Gerrard

Born in Lancashire, England, Rod Gerrard, like many of his contemporaries, found himself in the middle of the incredible sixties music explosion that rocked the entire world. From this small corner of northwest England came legendary bands like The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and The Searchers.

An accomplished vocalist, song writer and rhythm guitarist, Rod sharpened his skills as a journeyman musician while he toured Europe with various British bands, including Outrage and The Salford Jets. Well respected by his colleagues for his musical ability and his friendly, easy-going manner, Rod co-wrote and arranged a number of songs released in the United Kingdom by R.C.A., Victor, E.M.I. and W.E.A.

In 1968 Rod joined Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders in Manchester, England. After six years with Wayne Fontana, Rod joined the famous Herman’s Hermits as lead singer and rhythm guitarist. During his nine years with the Hermits, the band recorded several of Rod’s original compositions. The band spent much of their time touring the world, performing for audiences in Great Britian, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Australia, Canada and the United States.

In the mid-90’s, Rod settled in the American mid-west, and enjoys the sights and sounds of his new adopted country. Fortunately for his fans, he hasn’t stopped performing. Ever a true professional, Rod’s distinct sparkle and subtle British sense of humor always shine when he appears on stage, or on television, where he’s made guest appearances on favorites such as Nashville Now and Crook and Chase.

The memories will come flooding back to you when you hear Rod perform the old hits, like I’m Into Something Good, Silhouettes, Wonderful World, Game of Love, I’m Henry The VIII I am, and Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter. You’re sure to enjoy Rod’s new songs too!

So if your desire is to be transported back to relive the musical adventure of the 1960’s, be sure to see Rod when he tours with "The RETROROCKETS." You’ll be transported back in time to relive that original rock and roll experience.
