Avian Resource Center (A.R.C.)
LBJ Enterprises is a proud sponser of the A.R.C.. Located at the Manila Dunes
Community Center, the A.R.C. promotes education and ornithogical resource for
the public of Humboldt County.
The A.R.C. runs a M.A.P.S. Bird Banding station in the Manila Dunes on the North Spit of Humboldt Bay and at the mouth of Van Duzen River. The A.R.C. supplies volunteers and training to conduct all species point-counts for the Redwood Sciences Lab, and for Breeding Bird Survey routes. Also the A.R.C. supports The City of Arcata's Godwit Days Celabration with "Field Guides" (Field Trip Leaders), volunteer staff and technical assistance.
