Tours and Side Streets of Beijing - Part 1
Taken Sept. 12-19, 2000 during my visit to China.

View from Beijing Radisson
SAS Hotel where I stayed.
Around the corner is the China
International Exbibition Center.
Crossing Tiananmen Square
and headed to the entrance
to The Forbidden City.
Just inside the entrance to
The Forbidden City.
One of the places the
Emperor held court.
The Emporer's ornate thrown.
Animals from the Chinese
calendar adorn roof edges.
Classic Ming architecture
of The Temple of Heaven
in The Forbidden City.
Walkway to the Ming Tombs
is lined with marble statures.
Narrow passageways lead to underground tombs where
no photos are allowed.
With 600 knots per sq. in,
a 4ft. x 6 ft. rug will take
this artist two years to make.
Some absolutely beautiful
carpets for sale in this working
store near the Ming tombs.

Picture to right does not do
justice to these incredibly
beautiful works of art
I am standing between.
