: We are planning to install laminate floor in our kitchen, breakfast room and home office (all adjoining). We were all set to buy the Pergo Original floor and install it ourselves. When we got to Home Depot, we saw the new Pergo Presto snap-together product. The Presto sure looks a lot easier to install, but will it wear as well? Am I trading the convenience of an easier installation for the cost of having to replace it sooner?

: Any comments or experiences would be appreciated.

I am going to install a glueless product soon. It will go in my dining room. About 200 SF. What I have read on line is that the Presto/Express product is not even made by Pergo but sold under their name. That HD is the major supplier of that product and it is not that good. Witex is a manufacturer that supplies most of the backer boards if you will to most floor company's. They make a board that is entirely moisture resistant not just the edges sealed. I thought was a big selling point. Shaw is made by Witex and that is what I am going to use because I can not find a local dealer that sells Witex and i dont want to buy on line because if their is a problem I can go back to my local Flooring guy. I found a lot of this info from Fastfloors.com Ifloors.com and Internetfloors.com. They sell their products cheaper but when you add in shipping not that much. Good Luck.
