As a professional installer and flooring contractor, it is my experience that Witex Silent Comfort and Shaw's Versalock Sensations Plus are the best on the market. Both are made by the Witex company. They both have the hardest aluminum oxide finish on the market which makes them more scratch resistant than other brands. The attached silicone based pad reduces sound and provides a bit of insulation to create a quieter and warmer floor. Installation is relatively easy but I would recommend a professional to avoid warranty problems should you not follow or know all the manufacturer requirements. Both these floors will run in the $3.49 to $4.99 a square foot not installed depending on the retailer. You can check my website for additional info if you wish on other products.
