I too pulled the carpet up in the dining room of a 1917 house I just bought. Beautiful hardwood floor underneath for the most part. However, around the edges the floor is discolored by the old carpet pad. would it be feasible to put some sort of stain or dressing on the floor to mask the discoloration? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
