I would contact the manufacturer for recommendations, but in lack thereof I would suggest you look at the book shelf bottom and see if there is any footings or if it is flat. If footings, and they are narrow, I would increase the size by placing a furniture rest (they are generally sold at home improvement centers as square or round discs). I would also consider doing this for the piano as well for two reasons, it decreases point loading which could somewhat lock in a floor and also protect against indentation as well as scratches. You generally want to avoid discs that have plastic bottoms are these can scratch or mar the face of the floor.

: Can we place 3 sets of very heavy book shelves (hundreds of books) along one wall of a large room with a floating laminate floor without causing any problems. The room already has a grand piano along the same wall. Thank you for any advice or opinions you can give.
