I've heard all sorts of do's and don't on this subject and frankly it gets me confused. Heck if a laminate floor cannot withstand excessive weight then what's the use? I've never heard this with floating engineered hardwood floors. I went through this a few weeks ago on a commercial job of some 1200 sf and then my bud claims he's seen laminate floors in auto showrooms. With all that weight of cars on the floor it seems there's no chance for a problem as the floor can't possibly move.
