Jean-Claude,
The tap-ins were engineered really well. The built-in fastener is a circular sharpened rivet that is molded into the nylon body of the protector. The ample white or brown felt is permanently molded into or bonded to the nylon body (I am guessing that the body is nylon).
The self-adhesive type, also good design, do occasionally slip off chair bottoms. However, these are just fine for furniture that isn't moved very often.
The self-adhesive felt pads are also available in a 4" X 5" size, that can be cut-to-fit. I use alot of these as well. Any piece of furniture, whether intended to move or not, gets some kind of felt protector. It gives me an additional sale to the customer and gives the customer a little peace-of-mind knowing that the floor's finish isn't going to be seriously marred every time a furniture piece is moved.
Hope this answers your question, and then some.
