Using 2 X 6 T&G pine for flooring and ceiling in lower room

I am considering using 2x6 T&G Southern Yellow Pine flooring on the main level of a new construction without a subflooring to leave exposed as ceiling over a basement. I am worried about shrink, noise, and anything else that anyone would be worried about. Any comments? Thanks, Scott
