We want to install a wood floor in our new kitchen. We cannot raise the height of the floor the amount necessary to install conventional wood flooring, 3/4". We need to find something 1/4 or 3/8 max that we can glue or nail to the exisiting subfloor, which is 3/8" luaun plywood over a pine subfloor. The present floor is very sound.

How would oak stip flooring work? Is there something new out there that might be better?

We will most appreciate any suggestions on this.

Thanks,

Carly Lake
