Hey. Both products are relatively of equal cost. While Home Depot sells prodigy, we sell a comparitive product called Pergo American Classic. Either way, Bruce Hardwood is an incredible product, but unless you install it yourself its going to be 3.99 a square foot to install. Pergo is simple to install. Many couples would say that what makes pergo great, besides the fact that its easy to install, it wears well, and its simple to care for, is that if they were ever to get a divorce assuming they were married, that they would take the flooring on the way out.

WIth three quarter inch wood, installation requires nailing. Pergo has the underlayment attached to it, and just has to be joined using a simple tapping block, and scattered so that four corners dont match up. Otherwise you would run the risk of making a soft spot in the floor that would not only creak, but would crack there. Pergo cannot be wet mopped. It will warp if in a basement that floods. If I am rambling its just that I dont know your knowledge base. Ill check back once you take this in. Basically-Pergo has a similar look to wood, without the hassle, but hardwood is beautiful, and will last forever, can be sanded and recoated, while pergo is just a plastic coating on particle board.
