I am an insurance adjuster and I am being told that since the floor has some cupping in 3 areas (each less than 3 sf) that the floor must be replaced. The roof was damaged by hurricane Charley and several inches of water fell on the floor from heavy rains. I am also being told by 2 GCs and 1 flooring company that the floor is too thin to sand and refinish. The floor is 2 years old. I have the invoice from 2 years ago- Bruce Natural Reflections. The floor is 1/4" according to contractor. (or 5/16"?) thick on the top layer.
