I got white oak which is part of the reason I went with Balterio. It is hard to find a light colored laminate with no orange/yellow undertones. ALL the maples I've seen had this, especially the Columbia maple crest I had before the flood - the ORANGE ness of the floor almost made me puke - you don't notice it when you see the samples, but when the whole floor is down you do. The light colors generally only work for a contemporary - I live in an older property in New Hampshire and the ultra modern look of most light laminates doesn't fit at all.

: Thanks Kim!

: You are the second person I've heard from who ordered Balterio from internetfloors, so I am going to assume it is OK to do so, since neither of you had any problems. How easy was it to install (I will have a professional helping), and how does it look? If you don't mind me asking, which color/line did you purchase? (I am thinking of ordering the Authentic line, because it's very rustic looking, but I also really like the Cherry. I also like lighter colored woods, but I haven't ordered any samples of lighter colors, so I'm not sure what they actually look like.)

: Thanks again for your input. :)

: : I ordered Balterio internet flooring off the Internet from internetfloors.com in early June. Costs $1100 total for about 750 sq feet and delivery (from Indiana to NH, $150 delivered by Fed Ex freight).

: : I had to replace Columbia clic flooring (flood damage) and insurance didn't pay the flood damage, so I had to go with what I thought was the best deal. Having purchased laminate three times, and being a technical school (including building construction students) instructor, I chose Balterio because it is by such a wide margin the best value I could find (never heard of the company though before I ordered it). The rating is AC3, 31 which makes it IDENTICAL QUALITY TO Columbia and Pergo accolade and many other brands for about 1/3 the price.

: : I have NOTHING TO DO with Balterio or selling floors, but I do think it is an EXCELLENT, VERY HIGH quality flooring and a great value and more people should buy it! Go by the QUALITY RATINGS not the manufacturer - the laminate floors are all RATED for quality (AC2, AC3, AC4) - go BY THESE RATINGS AND NOT THE NAME BRANDS! Ratings are industry standardized - they are NOT assigned by the companies themselves but are outside assessments of quality.

: : Anyway, interestingly enough I accidently spilled plant wanter (left a hanging plant too wet) all over my new Balterio floor - it held up PERFECTLY, unlike the columbia which has costs more than TRIPLE and was completely TRASHED by flooding.
