First off, thanks for all the input everyone. We have narrowed our choice down to the Witex Loctec or Quickstep 800. My question is regarding the underlayment. We are having our laminate proffesionally installed(I know that makes you happy) but our installer told us that we must have both the padding and the waterproof underlayment. Apparently you can put these down individually or there is a combo product? We are building this house(Orlando) new and our flooring will be on concrete. My question is why would we need to put waterproof underlayment on a new floor? My friend just had her house done with the Quickstep but only had padding installed----is the waterproof really needed or is this one of those rustproof deals that car salesman use on buying new cars?
