I bought the Quick Step combo underlay - it has the moisture barrier on both sides with the foam underlay sandwiched in between. I would recommend that you look very carefully at your warranty - some companies require you to use their underlay in order to maintain your warranty.
I chose to install myself for cost reduction reasons, but I'm very glad I did for other reasons as well. I've learned so much and have become much more confident in trying other DIY projects. Next up is installing new bathroom fixtures!
