My 60-lb male dog is ruining the carpeting in front of our slider door downstairs in the lower level of our townhome! I clean the urine stains as quickly as possible (with enzyme solution, spot cleaner, and regular shampooing), but I'm quickly loosing the battle -- the downstairs room is starting to smell bad, which I can't tolerate.
Obviously I need to replace the carpet (er..., some would say ditch the dog, but I'm too attached to get rid of him!). I just don't know what flooring is best for my situation. The lower level carpeting is on a cement floor, and the room is very cool in the winter. I would love to have new carpet, but realize that probably won't work. I was very seriously considering Congoleum DuraCeramic tiles, until I read so many neagative things about the inferior glue and corner chipping that seems all to comon with that type of tile.
Would tile with grout be best for me? (and my dog.) I want to find the most durable product; something that will hold up to liquid spills and won't stain...
Thanks!!!
