It does mean that Mannington is supporting a product that they are confident of and profiting from. Of course Mannington does not make glue, neither does its competitors. That said, don't surrender your warrantee for a couple of bucks.
If there is an adhesive out there that has the same specs as the mannington glue, and Mannington says you must use their glue to not void the warranty. Then Mannington must supply the glue for free!! Mangum & Moss Act.
Bruce glue is too runny and doesn't grab very good.
