No manufacturer of cut pile carpet will warranty any installation over a cushion thicker then 7/16" and no less density then a 6-lb. Rebond cushion. What you described, is exactly what happens when improper cushion is selected. Rapid delamination occurs from the flex in the carpet backings, primary and secondary.
