We have Bruce laminate flooring in our kitchen, entry and dining room. The flooring came with the house and the house is about three years old.
In the past year, we have been noticing that the area around the seams is pulling up. Most of the areas are only noticable if you get them in the right light. One of the areas I know is related to a glass of water being spilled on the spot and being left there all day while we were on vacation (bad kitty!). But none of the others are related to any mishaps. And the problems started before the spill.
I have always used the Bruce floor cleaning product that was recommended with the warranty information or just a plain slightly damp mop. One flooring person in a store (not the Bruce rep) told me that the flooring must have been misinstalled or be defective. She said that if the glue were properly applied it should seal the seam and not allow any moisture in.
Any thoughts? Is this just what happens with this type of flooring? Or should I pursue some sort of warranty repair? Is there any other laminate product out there that would not do this? We are thinking about having it replaced.
Thanks.
