- Dr. Robert Gearheart is beginning his sabatical for the 1996-97 Academic Year. Mr. Dan Ihara will be the Acting Director for the IDT program. Dan will be teaching ENGR 530, the IDT core class, while Prof. Mike Menedes, will be teaching ENGR 535, International Development Technology.
- Curtis Miller is presently concluding the planning phase of his thesis, Wetland Treatment for Dairy Waste, a project slated for this fall in the Arcata Bottoms.Curtis is uncertain as to the present size of the treatment facility but is confident that the design will be adequate to treat the effluent and prevent harmful pathogens contaminating the bay.
- Oona Smith is working closely with her San Francisco community this summer. In the fall she will be traveling to Mexico to conduct her research for her thesis.
