To develop systems that incorporate the use of lagoons and constructed wetlands for treating all types of agricultural wastewater. To incorporate appropriate research in support of water pollution control projects.
Work Experience
1996-1999 Water system maintenance technician. Jane Myer,
Management of domestic water supply. Maintained intake and collection system, upflow filter, slow sand filter and holding tank. Cleaned and repaired system components.
1993-1998, Independent Environmental Consultant. Surveyed proposed timber harvest plans for Threatened, Endangered or Sensitive wildlife species. Wrote biological evaluations to examine the potential impacts of projects on wildlife and made recommendations for mitigating those impacts. Consulted on constructed wetland and aquaculture projects.

1996-1998 Water Quality Researcher. Hydro Resources International, P.O. Box 4409
Arcata CA. USA 95521. Renovated the Arcata marsh constructed wetlands pilot project. Cleared vegetation, reconstructed weir boxes, the pipeline system and the concrete water tower. Maintained the field water quality laboratory on the project site. Conducted experiments on dairy waste, domestic wastewaters and natural waters, exploring their characteristics and responses to various treatments and conditions. Collected, preserved and analyzed water samples for different pollutants.

1994-1996 Student Assistant/Laboratory Technician. Environmental Engineering Department, Humboldt State University, Arcata CA. USA 95521. Maintained the operations of the water quality laboratory at Humboldt State. Cleaned and stored glassware, prepared common reagents and solutions, maintained technical instruments and equipment. Collected, preserved and analyzed water samples for various pollutants. Provided guidance, lectures and laboratory exercises to students when needed.
1991-1992, Wildlife Biologist. Lower Trinity Ranger District, Six Rivers National Forest, Willow creek CA. Served as the District Biologist, reorganized the wildlife program, directed the spotted owl survey crew and developed proposals for wildlife habitat improvement projects. Helped design fire management projects. Served as an Interdisciplinary team member to help design and evaluate timber harvest plans. Wrote biological evaluations and EIS inputs for Threatened, Endangered and Sensitive species. Specialized duties: Fire fighter 1, Wilderness ranger.
1990, Biological Technician. Tiller Ranger District, Umpqua National Forest, Tiller OR. Conducted field surveys of proposed timber sales for Spotted owls, a Threatened species. Composed maps of old growth forest stands and Spotted owl locations from field surveys and air photos. Wrote biological evaluations for salvage timber sales analyzing their potential impacts on Spotted owls.
1989, Range Technician. Sheldon-Hart National Wildlife Refuge, Lakeview OR.
Inspected and repaired refuge boundary fence. Repaired developed springs and measured flow rates. Mapped the grazing utilization in the cattle allotments. Evaluated range trends and watershed conditions. Assisted on wildhorse surveys, wildlife surveys and research projects.
Supervisor
