If you connect via Suddenlink cable, the settings you will need to enter into your mail program are below. If you cannot follow the instructions, you will need to call Suddenlink to help you find them.
As of 3/19/07, Eudora does not have the capabilities to be configured for email using Huboldt Internet with Suddenlink as the connection provider. In these cases, we suggest using http://webmail.humboldt1.com - a secure, safe, and convenient alternative.
***If you are using Outlook Express, you will be going into the Properties of
your mail account. The basic steps to get to the Properties are to click Tools in Outlook
Express, click Accounts and double-click your mail account to bring up the Properties.
1. Change the Outgoing mail server to: smtp.suddenlink.net
2. Under outgoing mail server settings, check the box that says "Login using secure password authentication" or look for some wording stating that your outgoing mail server requires authentication.
3. After checking this box, there should be a Settings link or a place to put in your Suddenlink logon info, asking for username and password. In this place enter
"xyz@suddenlink.net" and your Suddenlink password.
*If you don't know your login information, you will need to call
Suddenlink.
4. Save all the settings and try sending a test email to yourself.
